the multidisciplinary artist participates in the game of composition and fermentation for big band
Jean-Luc Guionnet is a French alto saxophonist and organist in improvised music and free jazz. He is also a plastic artist, a performer and a composer of electroacoustic music.
Invited by Pierre-Antoine Badaroux, the emblematic artist from the stage of improvised musics in France and in Europe, composed the piece APHORISMES & FERMENTS for the Umlaut Big Band, a creation premiered at the Rendez-Vous Contemporains de St-Merry, 2018.
The piece of about thirty minutes long, is conceived as an introspective exploration of his mode of playing as a saxophonist, orchestrated for a big jazz orchestra.
